Time for a new ALIVE engine

As you can see from the lack of updates I've not really done much with the Oddworld level editor publicly for a while. In the end I've found the current game engines far too limiting and hard to use for anyone to be able to easily make great levels or mods.

So I've decided I'll pour time into creating a new engine with an editor built into the engine itself. Also this project will be completely open source.

You can find the project source here.

And you can support the project by donating here.

Updates will still appear here whenever this is more big news.

Still alive

Just a quick update to let you know I'm still alive. There will be an updated Oddworld level editor at some point. At the moment I don't have much free time hence not much progress. But what I can tell you is that the next version will remove some restrictions such as:

  • Add as many collision items as you like
  • Add/remove paths
  • Change LED and hint fly messages
  • Custom FG1 and other layers
  • Background animations
  • Undo/redo support
  • Changing the size of a path (e.g if it was 4x4 cameras you could make it 12x15 or whatever you feel like)
P.S Don't forget to checkout the updated links, there is some very nice Oddworld art to have a look at.

New website uploaded

Finally managed to get around to finishing off the website! Check out the about page to get an idea of what this site is about. In short its a place where I can host any applications that I create so that they're all in one self contained easy to find place rather than scattered about at random places on the Internet.

But please bear in mind that none of these applications come with any kind of warrety or come backs. Or in other words if using one of these apps causes your computer to melt your house down or the world to explode then I'm not responsible so download at your own risk!
